John Geeson, Exhibition Organiser of Newark Art Club was asked by North Muskham Parish Council if the Art Club would take part in the Riverside Festival at North Muskham, was held on Saturday 28th June. He decided to produce a group painting of The Great War in which members of Newark Art Club and Muskham Art Group would take part in St. Wilfred’s Church, North Muskham.
Each member was given a 4 inch square piece of the picture which they then had to paint onto a 12 inch square in a medium of their choice which included watercolour, acrylic and pastels. The finished paintings were then fixed together on a board to display the complete painting. A lot of interest was shown by the public who visited the Festival whilst we were painting.
