70TH ANNIVERSARY

Newark Art Club, formed in 1945, is 70 years of age this year. The club is extremely active with over 60 members many of whom meet on a weekly basis. To commemorate this anniversary, the club members wished to make a gesture of goodwill towards the community within the Newark & Sherwood District.

Obviously, we feel our strength lies in painting and from our Portfolio we have donated at least two original paintings to the community each month, either for display in public places, or to local charities for their own fundraising. Below is a list of the recipients identified by club members; 12 places for display and 14 requests for fundraising. After these presentations were made, by the end of the year 13 paintings were still to be donated so it was decided to offer them to Newark Parish Church for their fundraising for the new roof.

Our initiative has been applauded and appreciated by all the recipients and we have the satisfaction of contributing to the community as well as the benefit of raising our profile within the local area.

Thank you to all the Artists who donated their work
